Morning of the second day of the Yangpyeong trip.
After seeing the animals at Toy & Bunny Farm, I came over to Yongmun Station.
If you come all the way to Yangpyeong to have breakfast, hangover soup makes sense.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually, I don't really like the dish called Yangpyeong Haejangguk.
Neither blood sausage nor dried cabbage are to my taste, so I always pushed them to the back burner.
But shouldn't you try a dish with a region in its name at least once in that region?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yangpyeong Haejangguk<\/span>It is located on the 2nd floor of the Yongil Building.
The same building is packed with karaoke rooms, billiard halls, and coffee shops on every floor.
Looking only at the sign, I get a little confused about which way to go.
The signboard, with its mix of blue and red lettering, clearly shows its age.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

From Yangpyeong Haejangguk, Hwangtae Haejangguk, Bone Soup, Sundaeguk, to Gopchang Jeongol
I have listed almost everything a hangover soup restaurant can handle.
There is also a sign at the bottom stating that parking is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you go up the stairs, the hall is much wider than expected.
There are more than ten wooden tables, and on the wall are mountain paintings and a wall clock,
Flower pots are lined up along the windowsill, giving the impression of a country hall.
Since it was morning, there were only three or four customers, and most of them were eating quietly alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yangpyeong Haejangguk 11,000 won, Special 13,000 won.
Yangpyeong Gopnaetang 14,000 won, Hwangtae Haejangguk and Pyeodagui Haejangguk 11,000 won.
There is also a separate listing for the summer menu item, cold bean soup with rice, for 11,000 won.
Soju 4,000 won, Makgeolli<\/a> 4,000 won. There are even customers who have a drink with their meal from the morning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yangpyeong Haejangguk is made by dissolving soybean paste in beef bone broth and boiling it with beef blood, beef offal, dried cabbage, and bean sprouts.
It is widely believed that the virus spread at a drivers' restaurant that drivers traveling on National Route 6 used to stop by in the early morning.
Among hangover soups with a region in their name, it is one of the relatively late to become known.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are three side dishes: napa cabbage kimchi, fresh kimchi, and cubed radish kimchi.
The kkakdugi broth is unusually red, and the radish is still crunchy.
This lineup is sufficient for side dishes at a hangover soup restaurant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yangpyeong Gopnaetang (14,000 won)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I ordered Gopnaetang. It contains tripe, intestines, and offal.
The earthenware pot is served still boiling, so foam rises on top of the broth.
There is a thin layer of chili oil floating on top, and underneath is a cloudy broth closer to soybean paste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yangpyeong Haejangguk (11,000 won)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bean sprouts are piled high on this side.
Large pieces of green onion are placed on top, creating a vivid contrast with the color of the broth.
The rice is served separately, so you can mix it in or eat it on its own as you please.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you lift up the solids, large chunks of blood come out.
It cooked without the edges breaking and with the corners intact.
Cabbage, bean sprouts, and pieces of both are layered underneath.
It was so full that there wasn't even time to spoon up the broth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The condition of the ingredients in the Gopnaetang can be confirmed visually.
The tripe has its protrusions intact, and the stomach is sliced thickly.
When you chew it, it crunches, and then the fat seeps out belatedly,
This greasy section is definitely to my liking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Actually, some of the tripe had a very faint smell.
It was quickly washed away by the spicy broth, but
Sensitive people might frown, which is a bit of a shame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The broth is spicy thanks to the chili oil, but not overly stimulating.
The soybean paste base provides a base that leaves a savory finish.
When you take a spoonful, you can feel the hot sensation running down your throat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There was soy sauce on the table, so I took some of the solid ingredients out separately and dipped them in it.
The offal soaked in the broth becomes even more distinct when it meets soy sauce.
The portions were generous, so even though the two of us ordered two bowls, we kept emptying our plates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They did say the tripe smelled a bit, but
Overall, it was very delicious.
Spicy, refreshing, and greasy\u2026
It could be said that this is the perfect menu for a hangover cure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I recommend this for breakfast near Yongmun Station.
From now on, I don't think I'll be able to just walk past Yangpyeong Haejangguk on the menu.
