[Gyeonggi/Yangpyeong] Dumulmeori Yeon Hot Dog – A famous handmade lotus leaf hot dog spot near Dumulmeori

I stopped by Dumulmeori, the first destination of my trip to Yangpyeong.
I heard there is a famous hot dog place at Dumulmeori, so...
As a hot dog lover, I couldn't miss the trip.

Near the entrance of Dumulmeori, a white sign stands out from a distance.

These pigeons have no fear.

There was quite a wait, but the system was well-organized so the line moved quickly.
They are also selling soft drinks, water, and beer. It is fascinating to see San Miguel here.
If they had draft beer, I would have ordered a glass right away.

When you order a fried hot dog, they ask for sugar and sauce and give it to you right away.

With Myeongrang Hot Dog becoming more popular, it seems to be appearing frequently in the metropolitan area as well.
I suddenly remember being fascinated by sugar-free hot dogs when I first came up to Seoul.

We ordered one mild and one spicy. Both are 4,000 won.
Ketchup and mustard are drizzled appetizingly in a zigzag pattern.
It is quite large, so eating just one is filling.

Lotus leaves are added to the dough, so the cross-section has a subtle green tint.
However, I am not sure if it has a significant impact on the taste.
It must be something like a symbol of Dumulmeori, which is famous for its lotus flowers.
The sausage was made with 100% domestic pork, and it had a distinct chewy texture and retained its juices well.
The hot dog is definitely delicious because the sausage is tasty.

The spicy flavor is distinctly different starting from the color, as the spicy seasoning is infused into the sausage itself.
It is quite spicy, but not overly stimulating, and it stops at just the right level to be enjoyable.
Since I tend to like spicy food, I personally preferred the spicy version a little more.
Both are delicious, but if I had to choose just one, I'd go with the spicy one.

There is also a sign announcing the launch of meal kits available for delivery.
It comes in a pack of four 120g packs for 12,900 won and is sold on the Naver Store.

A notice caught my eye. It stated that the hot dog shop next to the nearby CU convenience store was an unrelated business,
Since around 2022, because they changed the business name displayed on Naver Maps to the exact same name, 'Dumulmeori Yeon Hot Dog'
The content was that customers were getting confused about the location more often.

It's not a frozen hot dog heated in an air fryer.
They were also emphasizing that the hot dogs were handmade and fried fresh every day.
If someone were selling knockoffs made from frozen hot dogs heated in an air fryer... I think I would get really angry.
I am actually curious about that shop that looks like a knockoff, too.
Looking at the map, this counterfeit shop is actually closer to Dumulmeori.

After finishing our meal inside the store, we left.
The price is 4,000 won per piece, so it feels a bit steep.
However, considering the prices at a tourist spot, that is a decent amount, and since the size is quite large, it is worth the investment.

If you are passing by Dumulmeori, it is worth stopping by at least once.
The taxi drivers and local residents reacted with, "Why go to such lengths?",
It seems to be because of the price. But after actually trying it, I thought it deserved to be famous.
