[Seoul/Bongcheon] Honam Restaurant – A famous Korean set meal spot in front of Bongcheon Station, Gwanak-gu

Honam famous restaurantsIt is a home-style Korean restaurant located at Bongcheon Station.
The name written in red letters on the yellow sign stands out even from a distance.
The reason people become regulars at neighborhood Korean restaurants is usually just one thing: they never disappoint every time they visit.
I usually come here to eat the aged kimchi pork bone stew, but this time I visited for a different menu item.

A yellow sign hangs under a red awning, and menus and prices are densely posted on both sides of the entrance.

Flowerpots and containers are lined up in front of the door and along the roadside, and if you look inside, lettuce, perilla leaves, and chili pepper seedlings are growing.
It seems they use vegetables grown directly in the small garden in front of the store, picked fresh every day.

From Cheonggukjang, Doenjang Jjigae, and Sundubu Jjigae to Budae Jjigae, Pork Bone Kimchi Jjim, and Spicy Chicken Stir-fry.
The prices are mostly between 7,500 and 9,500 won.

The interior is a narrow and cozy space finished with wooden panels.
There are only about 6 tables, but it is always crowded with customers during meal times.

As soon as you sit down, the side dishes are served first.
Seasoned bean sprouts, seasoning sauce, grilled tofu, a bowl of leafy greens, two fried eggs, and even chive pancakes.
The basic table setting alone feels like a complete meal.
Pancakes are provided as a standard item, and charges apply from the moment you order more.

The dishes ordered were Ttukbaegi Dakbokkeumtang (8,500 won) and Jeyukbokkeum (8,500 won).
Once everything was placed on the table, the portion was not small for two people.

The spicy and sweet stir-fried pork is
It goes well with homegrown leafy greens, a spoonful of rice, and a piece of spicy pork wrapped in them.

The cabbage and meat are cooked just right, resulting in a tender texture,
The seasoning was not overpowering, yet it had a good balance of sweetness and spiciness.
It is a hand that knows how to bring out flavor.

The earthenware pot chicken stew contains chicken and a few pieces of potato in a thick broth.
Since it costs 8,500 won, the portion isn't particularly generous, but
It wasn't bad considering you could enjoy a proper bowl of spicy chicken stew at this price.

It is closer to a spicy yet light flavor rather than a rich and heavy gochujang-based taste.
It was a light and flavorful broth.

It is also good to put a fried egg on top of the rice in an earthenware pot and mix it in.
Is it happiness to stuff a handful of rice that has spread between the grains as the yolk bursts?

The prices are affordable, the side dishes change frequently, and the taste is consistent, making it a good place to grab a quick meal nearby.
