[Chungnam / Buyeo] Gudrae Ferry Terminal – Sightseeing on Mt. Busosan via Baekmagang Yellow-Sailed Boat to Nakwaam and Goransa

If you come to Buyeo, you cannot just pass by the Baekmagang River.
While walking along the riverside promenade Gudrae Ferry TerminalWe decided to take a yellow-sailed boat.
The destinations are Nakwaam and Goransa.

Looking up at Nakwaam from the river,
It is a completely different experience from walking up Busosanseong Fortress.
I boarded the ship because I was curious about the difference.

A large stone inscribed with 'Gudrae Ferry' stands at the entrance to the ferry landing.
Behind the stone, the pier building with a tiled roof and the Baekma River were captured in one frame.
It was a clear spring day, so the mountains were vividly reflected in the river.

The building itself had a tiled roof to create a traditional atmosphere, but,
The red signs and blue steel structures are mixed together, making it a bit chaotic.
The ticket office, cruise ship waiting area, and souvenir shop are all located in one building.
It seemed like it would be quite crowded on weekends during peak season.

I looked into the river next to the dock and saw it was full of schools of fish.
According to the sign, it is a species called a yellowtail scad,
It was written that they inhabit the Han River and Geum River basins in large numbers and particularly like corn.
2,000 won per bag of feed.
I like corn too...

The price list is written honestly in bold letters on a yellow background.
Gudrae ↔ Nakwaam (Goransa) Round trip: 11,000 won for adults.
There is also a way to buy a one-way ticket and walk down from Busosanseong Fortress,
Then, the entrance fee for Busosanseong Fortress (2,000 won for adults) is charged separately.
Tickets are available at both manned ticket booths and automated machines,
Naver Pay QR payment is also available.

While waiting for the boat, one entire wall inside the building is a history panel.

From the days of constructing pontoon bridges in 1947 to the 1968 photograph of a ferry carrying buses across the river.
The fact that this ferry terminal was not just a simple tourist facility but an actual means of transportation
It was sufficiently conveyed with a few black-and-white photos.

Finally, the ship came in.
The sight of the yellow sails raised looks quite impressive from a distance.
If you look closely, you can hear the engine sound, but it still creates enough atmosphere.

There are also internal cabins on the ship.
It is a structure with a long bench placed along the wall on a wooden floor.
The window is wide, so the scenery on both sides of the river comes in well.
I thought it would be better to take a seat on the outer deck.

Starting off with the guide's explanations and exciting K-ppongjjak

As the boat reaches about the middle of the river, Nakwaam comes into view.
Nakwaam is a rock where the legend of the three thousand court ladies is passed down.
The cliffs viewed from above the water are much higher than expected.
Dense pine trees cover the entire edge of the cliff.

Another yellow-sailed boat passed by on the opposite side.
The ship was full of people, and a yellow flag was fluttering in the wind,
The sight of it cutting across the river against the backdrop of the mountains looked like a single ink painting.
I felt like I had boarded the boat just to see this one view.

There are return boats on the riverside below Nakwaam.
One side of the cliff slopes down close to the river.
When viewed from a boat, mountains, rivers, and buildings overlap on a single screen.
The sight of the waves rippling along the ship's wake is beautiful.

When you get off at the Goransa pier, you will immediately see the ticket office for the back gate of Busosanseong Fortress.
If you purchased a round-trip ticket, you can board again from here after the tour, and,
If you purchased a one-way ticket, you must pay the entrance fee for Busosanseong Fortress (2,000 won for adults) and hike up the mountain.
Having purchased a one-way ticket, I plan to hike down the mountain just like this.

The ticket office information board clearly displays the rates and operating hours.
During the summer season (March to October), from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Buyeo County residents, people aged 65 and older, and people with disabilities are free.

Goransa Temple is nestled at the foot of a mountain slope, with the river right in front of it.
Looking down from above, the tiled roof is visible in pieces through the trees.
There were some areas under construction and barriers were set up, but,
The courtyard, open toward the river, remained tranquil just as it was.

Baekhwajeong, a pavilion built on Nakwaam.
Thanks to the pine trees surrounding it on all sides, it is shaded,
Standing inside the pavilion, the view toward the river opens up wide.
The inside of the suit was already packed with tourists.

According to the information board, Baekhwajeong is a pavilion built in 1929.
In 660, when Sabi Fortress fell to the attack of the Silla-Tang allied forces,
It was built to commemorate the spirits of the court ladies who threw themselves from this rock.
‘It is said that the name 'Baekhwajeong' came from a poem by the Chinese Northern Song poet Su Dongpo.

The view of the Baekma River from Nakwaam is the highlight of this course.
As the river bends in an S shape, fields and mountains pile up layer upon layer,
A yellow-sailed boat was just crossing the river.
On that cliff I looked up at from inside the boat on the way up
For a moment, it felt strange that I was standing there.

The boat ride takes about 10 to 15 minutes one way, round trip.
If you allow an additional 30 to 40 minutes to look around Nakwaam and Goransa
You can fully look around within an hour and a half.

Since I took a boat ride and saw the beautiful scenery at a cheap price
